The Frankfurt Refractions series keeps evolving with this new set of photos seeing the world in the distortions and semi-transparencies reflective surfaces.
The idea for this project began with a spontaneous photowalk in my hometown. It was an unusual route for me: less concerned with the familiar streets and more with the spaces behind them. I passed through backyards, narrow passages and rows of houses that are rarely noticed from the main road.
Many of these places appeared neglected. Facades were stained, gardens overgrown, fences damaged, windows obscured or broken.

At first glance, the area around my workplace is not a place you would travel to for photography. At second glance, however, interesting images often hide in the most unpromising locations.
There is a quiet, almost conspiratorial pleasure in noticing the things walls are trying to tell us. Over the last few years, I have spent a fair amount of time listening to them. The resulting series, Wall Decorations, gathers images made between 2023 and 2026 in the Rheinpark Duisburg, in Brussels, in Oberhausen (Rhineland), and in my hometown area around Gladbeck in the Ruhr region.
