About the shot ‘Impenetrable’
I was just notified that my image Impenetrable won People’s Choice Award in the Geometry In Black And White Photo Contest over on ViewBug. As you can see in their official blog post, the competition was fierce. I still can’t quite believe that my image won the award and not one of the countless other terrific submissions.
The photograph was taken at the so-called „Medienhafen“ in Düsseldorf, Germany. This is a small river port that is widely known for the extravagant architecture along the pier. There are some interesting buildings by Frank Gehry there, too.
Thank you, Arcanum
I had a little help from my friends with this one: It was only because of the extremely constructive feedback I got in The Arcanum, the Magical Academy of Artistic Mastery, that I was able to make the image what it is now.
The Arcanum is a fantastic community for aspiring photographers who seek in-depth feedback and critique by master photographers. I run a photography class there myself. So if you are interested in working with me, don’t hesitate to check out this page or contact me via social media or the contact form and ask away. In my project based workshop we focus on all things black & white in all genres of photography.
More of (almost) the same
Here’s a selection of more architectural work that I shot in the same location as my now award-winning shot.
